Yes — switch to Image mode, upload a PNG with a transparent background, and set the opacity. A PNG logo at 20–30% opacity sits cleanly over page content without obscuring it.
Yes — the watermark is flattened into the PDF as a content layer, not a separate annotation. It cannot be removed by simply deleting comments or form fields.
Once flattened, a content watermark cannot be automatically removed. To preserve the ability to remove it later, use our Annotate PDF tool which keeps the watermark as a removable annotation layer instead.
25–35% is the professional standard — visible enough to communicate the label clearly, light enough that the document content remains fully readable underneath.
